Connecting Power BI Reports to Your Role Centre
Your Role Centre can display Power BI reports directly on the home page, so you can see your dashboards alongside the rest of your work in Garage Hive. Each user sets this up on their own account using their own Power BI sign-in.
Before You Start
The Microsoft account you use to sign in to Garage Hive must have a Power BI subscription. Once the subscription is in place, Garage Hive picks up your Power BI account automatically when you start the connection, so you do not need to enter any credentials manually.
Note: Each user connects their own Power BI account to their Business Central account. The connection is per-user, not per-company, so every person who wants to see Power BI reports on their Role Centre needs to do this once.
Connecting Your Power BI Account
Open your Role Centre. You will see a Power BI section on the page with a placeholder image and a Get started with Power BI button. Select the button to begin the connection.
Work through the prompts, selecting Next on each step. Because your Microsoft account already has a Power BI subscription, the connection completes automatically without asking for a separate sign-in.
On the last window, you will get a confirmation that the reports are ready to display. Click Finish.
Once connected, the Role Centre displays the Select Reports button, which opens a window listing the reports available in your Power BI account.
Choosing Which Reports to Show
In the Select Reports window, find the report you want to display. Select Enable from the actions menu. You can enable more than one.
Select Close. The Role Centre refreshes and displays the enabled reports in the Power BI area.
To view other options for the Power BI reports, where you can select another enabled report, click the drop-down arrow next to the Power BI name. Then use the available actions to manage your Power BI reports.
To hide a report later, return to the Select Reports window and disable it. The report stays in your Power BI account, but it no longer shows on the Role Centre.
Adding Power BI Reports to Customer List
The same connection also works on the Customers List page in Garage Hive. On this page, the Power BI option is available in the FactBox pane. Choose Select Reports, then enable the reports you want to display on the page.
